Early round plan and what to double-check

College 1: Early Decision (ED I)
College 2: Early Action (EA) (public)

One ED plus Early Action (School 2) is the most common combination. If School 1 admits your student, you withdraw every other application.

ED is a binding commitment. Families can usually be released only if the financial aid offered makes attending not affordable. Run each school's net price calculator before applying ED.

Timeline: most ED, EA, and REA deadlines are November 1 or 15. Most early results arrive in mid-December.
